Issues: Why I am running for Connecticut State Senate
1. REDUCE HIGH ELECTRIC RATES
2. STOP THE IRAQ WAR NOW
3. AFFORDABLE AND UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE
1. REDUCE HIGH ELECTRIC RATES!
The state of CT now pays the highest electric rates in the continental United States. Why is this? Mike
believes that privatization of our CT's electrical system, also called
Electric Restructuring, has given private electric generators and utilities
the power to rip off consumers. Mike believes that our electrical grid and
electrical system is a public service and not just another commodity that is
bought and sold in a phony electric market. Mike and the Green Party have
created a consumer group called Fight The Hike. Fight The Hike put forward
two bills last year that would have created a CT Power Authority and An
Excess Profits bill that would have taxed electric generators who are ripping off
electric consumers in CT.
2. STOP THE IRAQ WAR NOW!
Some say that the Iraq war is not a state senate issue. They are incorrect. The Iraq war will cost the
American People over than two trillions dollars. Hartford CT is one of the poorest
community in the U.S. We need jobs, housing, alternative energy, and mass
transit for people in the 1st senate district. We need to bring the troops
home and bring the money back for use in our forgotten cities.
3. AFFORDABLE AND UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE FOR ALL!
We need a single payer health care system for CT. Mike will introduce single payer health
care for all in the CT senate.
