Join the Green Committee of One Hundred Today!
Hartford, CT – June 1 – The Green Party of Connecticut has launched a committee to get Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein on the ballot in Connecticut. If you are a state resident and want more than two options in November (or a Bernie Sanders supporter looking for a back-up candidate), contact us via phone or email above and pledge that you will collect and hand in 100 signatures in the next 60 days--that's just one or two signature a day!
If we get 100 people to collect 100 signatures in the next 60 days that will mean 10,000 net signatures (We need 7,500 valid signatures to get Jill on the ballot in Connecticut). We will supply you with the petitions, directions, and training to get you going.
The reality is that half of the electorate has severed ties with the Democrat/Republican machine for many years, now, out of disgust over its repeated corporate-backed games with every election cycle and the trail of prevarications and broken promises in between. More-over, according to a CNN poll released in May, half of all voters are open to supporting a candidate from an independent party.
As Dr. Stein has emphasized repeatedly, mobilizing the 40 million college students, whose lives are freighted with lifetime debt, alone is sufficient to make the difference in a three-way race. She stands as the sole candidate advocating for eliminating student debt, altogether, via the same policy of quantitative easing that benefited the banks in 2008.
Our neighbors in New Jersey, Massachusetts and New York did it--so can we! The citizens of the Constitution State also need another choice in 2016, not an echo of more war and austerity.
About the Green Party of Connecticut and Jill Stein
A unity of local Green Party chapters, the CTGP (www.ctgreenparty.org) is committed to grassroots democracy, social justice, non-violence and ecological wisdom. These are the Four Pillars of all Green parties worldwide and are the first four principles of the Ten Key Values of the Green Party (including decentralization, community-based economics, feminism and gender equity, respect for diversity, personal and global responsibility, future focus and sustainability). We do not accept contributions from corporate PACs.
Dr. Jill Stein (www.jill2016.com) was the Green Party’s 2012 candidate for President and holds the record for most votes ever received by a woman candidate for President of the United States in the general election. She is a mother, physician, and pioneering environmental-health advocate and has helped lead initiatives to fight environmental racism, strengthen local green economies and revitalize democracy. She has helped win victories in campaign finance reform, racially-just redistricting, green jobs and power plant toxic remediation. She was an organizer for the Global Climate Convergence for People, Planet and Peace over Profit.
